This chair is rather firm and offers good support. It's very easy to get out of it because of the springs. The fabric is actually beige with a dark denim blue pattern. It fits in very well with our Country French furniture. I would have appreciated a stain resistant coating.

We like these chairs. They are firm, but comfortable. Could be a bit higher in the back for when my husband rest his eyes :-) We painted the living room " Melted Butter" from Berr ( home depot) paint and it goes together great!.There's lots of grey stipes, as well as blue and yellow.We left the legs off the ottoman and just bought flat screw in buttons(?) so it would slide on carpet, because with the legs it was TOO TALL to be comfortable to put your legs up on. This way, it's just a bit lower than the chair. We had ordered 2 of these and only ONE came. WE WERE NOT HAPPY CAMPERS! Then it was out of stock and it took about a month for the second one to be delivered. If you want a pair, be SURE, to say you will ONLY accept a pair or NONE! They both match, however. I was worried that the dye lot might be different.It's not. The seat cushion is attached to the chair, so you cannot turn it over. Same with the back. I'd pay more for an extra yard of fabric so they could provide cushions with BOTH SIDES finished. This seems to be a trend to cut cost. There's nothing to put together other than screwing on the legs. They seem pretty solid.

A nice piece of furniture for less than $400.Please be aware that the colors are not exactly as they appear in the photos displayed by Amazon. The blue is indeed a slate blue, as it says in the description of the item. The photos make it seem darker than it is. The light color is not white, it's cream. We're happy with the colors but they sure look different in those photos.Also be aware that the design looks very crisp in the photos but the edges of the pattern are a bit faded. I've included a photo to give you a better idea.It's a nice size: the seat is about 2 feet off the ground and the back extends another foot and a half.The chair came about a week after we ordered it and it was easy to assemble; just needed to screw the feet on the chair and ottoman. It's not the comfiest chair ever created but I find that new furniture usually needs a little wearing in before it reaches peak coziness. The overall construction of the chair is good as far as I can tell. If you're looking for expert craftsmanship, you probably wouldn't be shopping for chairs online anyway...I looked around and couldn't find a better deal for a chair + ottoman.
