Wouldn't have bought it

I'm not sure why this was rated so well by others, there is no way I would have bought it if I was able to sit in it prior to purchase. If it wasn't so large and a pain to repackage, I would return it.QUALITYThe stitching is of poor quality and I don't expect it to hold up very long. The swivel track isn't smooth. The finish on the wood arrived already chipped, and seems to chip easily. It says it is leather, but it is a pretty cheap fake leather.ASSEMBLYThe pieces to the ottoman didn't line up and I had to squeeze the legs together to get them to line up with the holes. The armrests are hard to get onto place. The holes in the cheap, fake-leather don't line up with the nuts under them making it extremely difficult to get bolts into them.COMFORTThe chair doesn't recline nearly enough. The full upright position is uncomfortably up right, the rear of the chair seems to push you further than straight up. Full recline is barely more reclined more than the position I have it in when I am sitting upright. The armrests are EXTREMELY low and are almost unusable. They also aren't adjustable which makes it even worse. The ottoman also seems low for the chair.

Black "NOT LEATHER" Recliner

I wish this had been real leather. Problem is, it's definitely not and I wouldn't have minded that if it hadn't been misrepresented as "leather". Other than that the chair is fine. Indeed it is not a full scale recliner, nor did I expect it to be. It is however, very comfortable and stylish. I ordered two of these and they were sent separately on different days by two different shipping companies. I also wanted to cancel the order a minute after placing it because I wanted to change it to the brown, but was unable to do so, not sure why. One of the chairs had a broken recliner handle which has somehow been broken in shipping. Instead of sending the chairs back we decided to keep them. Luckily hubby is handy and he managed to fix the broken handle. I think that consumers would be happier with this product if they were not under the impression that they were getting a leather recliner and then disappointed when it arrives with imitation leather. We're keeping the chairs because they serve the purpose they were purchased for.

Excellent value

When my old recliner needed replacement I bought a pair of these direct from a company that also sells through Amazon. As one reviewer notes putting them together took bit of ingenuity as instructions were not the best. But all parts were there and when together very pleased with these chairs. They sit a bit low so if you are older and have trouble sitting or getting up then you might want to consider recliner that is higher off the ground, but for me I like the swivel feature and fact I can use the ottoman or not and find for reading and TV these are great chairs. If you want to lay back and snooze then probably not the right recliner for you. Having put together a lot of Christmas toys over the years and a few pieces of furniture from China I was not too surprised at the instructions but a couple of items to note. First, there are several bolts and instructions are not full size on instruction sheet so need to organize before installing to be sure which goes where. Biggest issue I had was with the back. To install need to lay flat and you may find that the nuts inside the back need to be exposed which may take nut pick or ice pick or similar to expose. But once together I am extremely pleased, especially for the price.
