COMFORT BUT FALLS APART

After a 'delayed' shipping, I finally received this chair yesterday. It took about 45 minutes to put together, all the pieces and included hardware were accounted for. This is exactly the comfort that I was hoping for! I found the chair very comfortable and enjoyable, and after falling asleep in the chair in the reclined position this afternoon... the CHAIR PASSED! Any chair for me to fall asleep in has to be comfortable, so I'm hoping that it is a durable as it is comfortable and will last for many years! It has just the right amount of cushioning, and height from the floor (aka easy to get into and out of) and this chair was exactly what I was looking for! The recliner mechanism that 'flips' the foot rest is smooth and easy to operate, AND it locks in place.UPDATE: It's been less than a year and this chair is falling apart. The leatherette in the headrest and arms cracks and the white fabric binding shows through. The footrest has begun to tear away and eventually will fall off when the fabric tears completely from the seam. I'm assuming the chair is a defect since this is the replacement for the 1st one that starting doing (fabric tearing) the same thing in a few months. Don't waste your money on this chair, buy a real leather chair instead. I'm sure leather will last forever or at least longer than 8 months.

Smooth Move

I'm usually pretty critical when it comes to reviews but doing my say on this chair is a breeze and so was the whole adventure. Shipping was REAL quick and the contents were almost double boxed and protected. Nuts, bolts and wrenchs and simple pictured instuctions all there. Putting the chair together is not for the weak. Some pressure is needed to align the bolt holes due to the thick foam padding and a drift pin or philips screw driver would help move things around. As with all projects that require assembly, your best bet is to get the bolts needed started hand tight then go back and then tighten them down. The chair sits a tad high. I'm 5'10" and my legs are just making it to the floor flat footed. I might try cutting down the center pole some but 1/2 in. is all I'll get. COMFORT, for me, Yes! The chair is 'very' firm when you first sit then, you kind of melt into it. Back support is a MUST for my constuction racked back. You can really feel the lumbar padding and a sense of relief just runs down the spine. The only drawback I think is the leg rest which can only be up or down. A friction lock would be nice to put the rest wherever you wanted but-oh well! Speaking of friction lock, the one used to lock the position of the chair works fine on mine. All and all, you could spend more but I don't know what for unless your really into leather. Works for me and that's all that counts. I'm Happy!

Swivel Recliner Chair with Flair Tapered Arms

Chair looks fine and is reasonably comfortable. It wasn't a snap to put together, though. One of the drilled holes that required a precision fit was off a fraction and the furnished bolt wouldn't fit. Lucky for me I had a bolt that was a fraction smaller and I was able to make it work. Additionally, after about a weeks use the chair started to squeak very annoyingly. When one moves in the chair even the slightest little bit, squeak, squeak. Very unsatisfactory. Turned the chair over and WD-40'd everything in sight. No help. I guess I am stuck with it,though. I wouldn't even venture a guess as to how to break it down and return it. The box it came in was huge, wouldn't fit through the door and got rained on the same night it was delivered. Biggest thing I ever bought from Amazon and I didn't know what to expect.Don't get me wrong, the chair works fine, but it just isn't perfect. However, it didn't cost $500.00, either. One gets what they are willing to pay for. I figure I saved $150.00 on the chair and a $75.00 delivery charge if purchased locally.
