The Klaussner 'dreamquest' mattress is advertised as being over 6" thick, as compared to the 'royale' at over 4". Although a bit squashed, I could not feel the bar under the mattress after laying on it-- I bought the chair with focus solely on the mattress thickness for comfort. The chair is large and comfortable, well-constructed. I'm thinking about buying the matching ottoman. I took the Amazon super saver delivery: thanks go to Ceba Top Hat freight service for unpacking the chair and taking the cardboard with them.

I was not impressed by the mattresses I saw on sofa sleepers in the furniture stores. I read about the Dreamquest Mattress during an Amazon search and was hopeful. The same mattress at Penney's Home Store was quite a bit more expensive and shipping was extra. The 5 1/2 inch mattress is quite comfortable without having to drag out a foam topper. Great for kids and adults.

Got this for my office/study to use for overflow when family visits. It is well constructed. The delivery was excellent. They manuevered it through a tight door, set it up and took all the packing material. I definitely rate this as one of the best purchases I have made from Amazon. By the way the Chair/bed is very comfortable and good quality..
