Leather, reasonable design, pretty standard otherwise

This is pretty much a bog-standard inexpensive office chair. If you've ever assembled a similar chair then you'll know that they all seem to go together the same way and all the parts for all such chairs might be made in the same factory in China as they all have very similar construction.This one is sufficiently comfy, and the tension-adjustable tilt mechanism makes it much much more comfortable than a fixed non-reclining chair.The bright chrome plating makes it look a little bit cheap in my opinion, but that's just an aesthetic choice, not really a deficiency in the product.The casters included are smallish, and roll pretty freely, so on a hard surface it will move around very easily, which may or may not be what you want. Much more expensive chairs give you the option of hard-surface casters which have more friction in them so that the chair stays put better on a hardwood floor or chair mat, but the included casters are typical for this type of product.The downward curving arms mean the chair fits a bit better under a desk or keyboard tray than some.The leather is nice and gives it a more high-end look and feel.The seat cushion seems a bit wimpy to me, and I have a concern as to whether it is thick enough to hold up to long term use, but so far it's OK.The only adjustments are seat height and tilt tension, but you can also lock the tilt so that the chair will not recline (much) by pressing the height adjustment lever inwards. The range of tilt and tension seem good to me.It's really hard to choose a chair without sitting it it, but if you like the look of this one then I can say that it seems fine and has no major flaws or downsides that we have discovered.G.

Nice chair but has it's flaws

When the box arrived I was scared to open it since I could tell there was going to "assembly required". To my amazement I had the chair put together in less than 20 minutes. Everything you need to assemble it is included. From the looks of it there seems to have been some kind of assembly problem and they threw in a revised screws/parts pack so you are left with lots of extra pieces. One word of caution, do not overly tighten the screws. I have attached a picture on the main page to show how the metal concave inward because I overly tightened them.The leather is soft and seems to be of high quality but I was disappointed to see that you can see material hanging from the bottom of the chair where it is stapled to the cushion. It was not folded over and then tacked or stapled in place. A blunt cut was made and then stapled near the edge.The chair is comfortable and has amble padding, but it lacks ergonomic features like lumbar support and easy back support adjustments. I would not recommend it for real long periods of time like working an 8-hour work day. These are great for a computer desk at home or as conference table chairs. I have it stationed at my work station at home. It makes the desk and room look elegant and sophisticated.One very annoying feature I must admit is the wheels. Instead of using some kind of plastic over the wheels metal tabs that insert into the metal stand, you can hear metal clanking every time you sit or move the chair.

It's hard to buy a desk chair over the internet. Things that you want to think about include seat width, seat height, seat tilt, back height, lumbar support, and the adjustability of all those things. Then, of course, you also want a chair that looks nice.This chair was very appealing to me because it looked nice. Oooh! Leather! But I agree with a previous reviewer that it doesn't seem to be actual leather, and it's not as adjustable as I'd like it to be. Thus for me, this is a fail as a desk chair, though it's a very nice chair in a lot of ways. Assembly was also a bit of a fail.I'm a 5'10" female with a 34" inseam (long legs), and "got back", so some chairs with armrests are cosy in the seat. This chair is plenty comfortable to sit in. The lumbar support, however, is in the wrong place for my height and/or build; it's too low, and not adjustable. Similarly, the seat is comfy, but even at its maximum height, it's lower than I would like.This chair is ace if you spend your time leaning back. It IS called an "Executive" chair; I can imagine myself leaning back in it while looking scornfully across my big desk at an underperforming underling just fine. But alas, I need it to sit here at my desk and type, and it's not going to work because the seat is too low and because the lumbar is pushing into my butt, not into the small of my back. The tilt angle of the seat also seems wrong for typing to me; I'd like it to tilt further forward than it does.I did have an assembly fail; I can't get one of the screws that attach the back to the armrest into place. I will try again later when I have more patience. I am reasonably handy and found that this went together reasonably easily until I got to the last steps of attaching the back. (Approximate assembly time: 30 minutes, plus an extra 10 for the bolt that I couldn't get to work.)Pros:1. Nice looking.2. Comfy.3. Great chair for leaning back and pontificating. Or pondering. Might be a good chair for TV watching or video games for some people. Would probably work well as a conference table chair and maybe as a guest chair in some circumstances.Cons:1. Max seat height is not high enough for me.2. Lumbar support is not adjustable and is in the wrong place for me.3. Max forward tilt is still angled too far back for me.Summary: If you're looking for a chair to sit at your desk and type, this probably isn't it.
